Actually it all began with the ridicule of Godman   - who punished Eve  for plucking and tasting the forbidden fruit and giving it to Adam!

When I read David Bodonis’s book “The Greatest Scientific Affair- The Passionate Minds” I was astonished to note that the women were not allowed to read in France during mid 19^th century. I am digging for a book that tells the status of women in India during that period.
